Claire & Paul’s Wedding at St. James Leyland and Barton Grange Hotel, Lancashire.

It was an absolutely glorious day on Friday (yesterday) when me, Alex of Fairfield Photographic, was lucky enough to be heading out to photograph the wedding of Claire and Paul at St James Church, Leyland, and then the reception at Barton Grange, near Garstang.  It’s always great to be shooting a wedding, but it’s especially fun when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and I know I don’t need to worry about white brollies or getting soaked or mushy lawns!

Claire looked just *stunning * in a really lovely dress and Paul looked ok too 😉  From my perspective the day went really well, especially as it was my first proper wedding of the year and I was expecting to feel a bit rusty for a few minutes at least, but thankfully, the only mistake I made was parking the wrong side of Claire’s Mums house, which meant the bridal cars blocked me in (and then didn’t let me get past, grrr!) and stopped me getting to the church early 🙁  Luckily I could make up for it by getting some extra shots at the bride’s house so all was not lost!

The church service was lovely – Paul got emotional seeing his beautiful bride-to-be, and in a nice change from what I’m sometimes used to, we had a vicar who was young(ish), humourous and very cheerful!  He even let confetti get thrown inside the church grounds, which was a big change!

From the church we headed off to Barton Grange Hotel and went to straight to the drinks reception, in the rear garden. It’s quite a compact space, very beautifully kept, with a wide range of bushes and flowers and surrounded by trees, and this time of year the bright low sun through those trees certainly made for some tricky shooting conditions.  I think I was up to the task though and got some fab photos that I hope the bride and groom and their families and friends will love 🙂 We used the many locations the hotel has to the full and I think everyone was ready for a nice sit down when it was finally time for the wedding breakfast and the speeches at 4pm.  After covering those it was time for me to go, and for Claire and Paul to think about their honeymoon….lucky people!!!

A very small selection of photos follow; when the bride and groom return from honeymoon I’ll post a link to the online gallery on this blog, and I’m sure Claire & Paul will share the password with all their friends and family.
