The second of my 5 weddings at the end of July/start of August was the wedding of Helen and Michael at St. Andrew’s Church in Radcliffe and the Norton Grange Hotel in Rochdale. I like working at different venues and it was my first time at both the church and the hotel. It was also a scorching hot and sunny day!

As the bride’s maiden name is the same as the new surname you really can’t go wrong with this one!
The Wedding Day
Quite easy to describe – a gorgeous day! It did get a little hot though mid afternoon as we waited for a missing bridesmaid to appear at Norton Grange! From my perspective, the whole wedding went really smoothly. I started off with bridal preparations, then headed off to the church, which was far more beautiful inside than I was expecting – it was stunning. The ceremony was lovely, and Helen and Michael looked completely in love, which made for great photographs.
Afterwards I had time to take some reportage shots of guests mingling and congratulating the bride and groom, before getting everyone together to throw confetti. It was then back inside for some family groups in the church before Helen & Michael were whisked away to teh reception in Horgans’ Beauford car. I’ve had a soft spot for Beaufords ever since my wife and I had one at our own wedding 🙂
Once at Norton Grange we had to improvise for a while as a) we were missing a bridesmaid for AGES and then b) there was another wedding at the hotel and they had first dibs on the gardens where we planned to take photographs. But it all worked out and I managed to find a few trees that provided a nice backdrop for smaller groups.
I finished up what was a shoter than normal wedding for me by covering the wedding breakfast, which included a lovely series of wedding messages from the little ones that Helen teaches – it was a sweet end to my day and I left the bride and groom ready to tuck into their well deserved meal!
